Skin Rejuvenation

What Is It?

Dorothy is often referred to as a “moisture filler”. The reason is its consistency. According to the product information, it contains 20 mg of lightly cross-linked hyaluronic acid. When you cross-link hyaluronic acid, it stays in the tissue longer. If you keep that link light, it does not create volume.

Now, in classic fillers the cross-linking is high, because the aim is to give shape and support. In Dorothy the link is light and the aim is to keep water in the tissue. What sets it apart from multi-ingredient cocktails is its simplicity. It works with a single molecule, in a higher amount.

How Is It Done?

During the examination we look at the skin’s hydration level and surface quality. We ask whether fine lines become more visible as the day goes on. After a topical anaesthetic cream, we deliver the product with a fine needle into the middle layer of the skin, through points spread across the area. It takes about 15 minutes. The reported plan is 2 sessions.

Who Is It For?

It suits patients whose skin is drying out, who say their make-up does not sit well on the skin, and whose fine lines become more visible towards the evening. It comes up often in winter in centrally heated rooms, and at the end of summer after the sun.

If there is active infection or inflamed acne in the area, we postpone the treatment. Pregnancy and breastfeeding, bleeding disorders, blood-thinner use and a known sensitivity to hyaluronic acid change the plan. We discuss all of these during the examination.

Results & Duration

You feel the hydration in the first days, and the skin surface settles in the second week. The reported range is 6-12 months. Your skin type, the season and sun protection decide where the effect lands within that range. When the effect fades, we can repeat the treatment.

What Is Not Promised

Dorothy adds no volume. It does not change the shape of areas such as the cheekbones, lips or chin, and it does not take the place of a classic filler. It does not tighten sagging and does not erase deep expression lines. It does not lighten skin colour either. We cannot promise a particular level of hydration or duration.

Key Benefits

  • Reduced fine line appearance
  • Skin radiance
  • Moisture increase

“When a patient hears the word “filler”, they expect volume. What gets filled here is the skin’s water reservoir. If I do not say this at the start, the patient leaves saying “nothing happened”, even when the treatment has worked.”

Frequently Asked Questions

It is called a filler — will it add volume to my face?

No. The cross-linking here is not of a consistency that creates volume; the product is designed to stay in the tissue and hold water. If you want volume, we will talk about that as a separate subject.

How does it differ from Elite?

Dorothy gives hydration through a single molecule, in a higher amount. Elite also contains substances such as niacinamide and glutathione alongside hyaluronic acid, so the weight there shifts towards tone.

How many sessions are needed?

The reported plan is 2 sessions. We set the exact number during the examination, according to what your skin needs.

How long does it last?

The reported range is 6-12 months. Skin type, season and sun protection decide where you fall within it.
