ViewHair Treatments — Frequently Asked Questions
Does it replace a hair transplant?
No. It doesn’t bring back lost follicles or fill an open area; it is aimed at supporting the follicles you have. We also use it as support ahead of a transplant and in the period after it.
How does hair mesotherapy differ from PRP?
PRP works with growth factor signals obtained from your own blood. In mesotherapy the content is a standardised mixture that comes from outside. They can be alternatives to each other, and they can also be used in rotation within the same plan.
How is hair PRP carried out?
We draw a small amount of blood from the arm, separate the platelet-rich plasma by centrifuge and deliver this plasma into the scalp with fine needles. A session takes 30 minutes on average.
Will the transplanted hair fall out again?
The transplanted hair usually stays. The follicles are taken from the nape, which resists hair loss, and they keep that property. Your own existing hair may keep falling out, though, and that is a separate process.
Is micro graft a hair transplant?
No. In a hair transplant, follicles are moved. In micro graft we deliver a cell-containing mixture prepared from your own tissue into the thinning area, and no follicles are moved.
Why is tissue taken from behind the ear?
The area behind the ear resists shedding. The follicles there are less affected by the hormonal influence that drives hair loss, and we use this area as the donor site in hair transplantation too. The pieces we take are small and heal on their own.
Will a plant or animal sourced product be used?
We decide that at examination, looking at the type of hair loss. It is a separate choice about the product’s raw material and is independent of the area treated.
How many sessions are needed?
We usually plan 6-8 sessions at weekly or fortnightly intervals, followed by maintenance. The rhythm depends on the type of hair loss.
