What Is It?
Merken PLA has two components, and each one runs on its own timeline. According to the product information, it contains 200 mg poly-lactic acid and low cross-linked hyaluronic acid. We give both in the same session.
Low cross-linked hyaluronic acid does not create volume. It holds water, and you feel its effect in the first days. PLA works over weeks, through the collagen response. In pure PLA protocols the first weeks are quiet. With Merken PLA the hydration side comes into play early and the collagen side follows behind it.

How Is It Done?
During the examination we look at whether the complaint comes from dryness or from laxity at the surface. We discuss the share of each component accordingly. After a topical anaesthetic cream, we deliver the product with a fine needle into the middle layer of the skin, through points spread across the area. We treat the neck and décolleté with the same logic. The procedure takes about 15 minutes. The reported plan is 1-2 sessions.
Who Is It For?
It suits patients who have both dryness and surface laxity in their skin and want support for both in a single session. If there is marked sagging or volume loss, Merken PLA is not enough on its own and becomes one part of the plan.
If there is active infection in the area, a bleeding tendency or blood-thinner use, pregnancy or breastfeeding, a known problem with scar healing or sensitivity to the product content, we review the plan. If you have had another injection recently, we set the interval separately.
Results & Duration
The change you see in the first days comes from the hydration side and is temporary. The effect we are really waiting for comes from the collagen response to PLA, building up after the fourth week. So we make the assessment at the second month. The reported duration is 12 months; it varies with skin structure and sun protection.
What Is Not Promised
Merken PLA does not add volume to areas such as the cheekbones or the lips, and it does not change the facial oval. It does not lift loosened skin; thread lifts and surgical lifting are separate subjects. It has no lightening effect on pigmentation. Do not expect a structural difference after the first session. We cannot promise a particular result or duration.
