Neck Mesotherapy

Duration15 min Effect3-6 months Sessions3-4 session(s)

What Is It?

In patients who have treatments for their face, the neck usually comes last. The neck behaves differently from the face. The skin is thinner, there is less fat support beneath it, and it sits over a structure that is constantly moving. It gets as much sun as the face, yet most people neglect its care. That is why age often shows on the neck before it shows on the face.

In neck mesotherapy we use tiny needles to deliver substances that nourish the skin, such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids and hyaluronic acid, into the middle layer of the neck skin. We do not add volume. Our aim is to feed the renewal capacity of this thin skin, which has little support beneath it.

How Is It Done?

At the examination I work out where the complaint comes from. Are there horizontal lines on the surface, has the skin quality deteriorated, or is there real laxity? That decides the method. Mesotherapy works on skin quality; if there is laxity, the plan is different, and we talk about that from the start.

We cleanse the area and deliver the formulation with very fine needles through evenly spaced points, a very small amount at each point. Because neck skin is thin, we keep the depth and quantity more measured than on the face. A session takes 15-20 minutes on average. We usually plan 3-4 sessions, and we update the spacing and the total according to the response.

Who Is It For?

It suits patients whose neck skin has become dull and looks crepey on the surface, or whose horizontal lines are becoming more visible. These lines appear earlier in people who spend the day looking at a screen with the neck bent forward. In patients who have had their face treated for years and skipped the neck, the difference between the two areas also brings this up.

Where there is marked laxity and sagging, mesotherapy can only be a supporting part of the plan. Pregnancy and breastfeeding, active infection, eczema or an open wound in the area, bleeding disorders, uncontrolled autoimmune disease and known allergy to any ingredient in the formulation all change the plan.

Process & Recovery

  1. Neck analysis

We look at the depth of the lines, the thickness of the skin and how much of the picture is laxity. This is where we separate whether the complaint comes from skin quality or from real laxity.

  2. Session day

We cleanse the area and deliver the formulation through evenly spaced points in very small amounts. On the neck we keep the depth and quantity more measured than on the face. A session takes 15-20 minutes.

  3. First hours

Redness and small bumps appear at the injection points and usually settle within 2-3 hours. On that day I ask you to stay away from saunas, swimming pools and intense exercise.

  4. Between sessions

The sessions continue at the spacing we planned. During this period I ask you to put sunscreen on your neck as well, because the neck is the place people skip most often.

  5. End of series

The full effect takes about two weeks to settle. Once the series is finished, we assess it by comparing photographs and plan maintenance.

Results & Duration

You may feel a freshness in the skin after the first session. The real change shows in skin quality and surface smoothness as the series goes on. The full effect takes about two weeks to settle.

The reported range for the effect is 3-6 months. It varies with how much sun the neck gets, skin type and daily routine. In this area, holding on to the gain depends largely on sun protection and maintenance sessions.

What Is Not Promised

Neck mesotherapy is not a lifting procedure. It does not gather up lax neck skin, does not change the angle between the jaw and the neck, and does not replace surgery. It also has no effect on a double chin or the fat beneath it; that is a separate matter.

It does not completely erase deep horizontal lines. What we aim for is to soften them. It has no lightening effect on pigmentation and does not replace sun protection. I cannot promise a particular appearance, number of sessions or duration. If the series is left unfinished, the expected support will not come either.

Key Benefits

  • Neck rejuvenation
  • Collagen support
  • Skin quality

“The neck is the place my patients with well-kept faces skip most often. Yet it is often the first place to give away age. Because the skin there is much thinner, we work more cautiously than on the face.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What does neck mesotherapy do?

It supports the hydration and quality of the neck skin. It works on dullness and a crepey surface; it does not count as a lifting procedure.

How does it differ from facial mesotherapy?

The formulation may be similar, but the application differs. Because neck skin is thinner and has less support, we keep the depth and quantity more measured.

How many sessions are needed?

We usually plan 3-4 sessions. We update the spacing and the total according to the response.

When will I see the result?

You will feel a freshness early on. The full effect takes about two weeks to settle and becomes clearer as the series goes on.

How long does it last?

The reported range is 3-6 months. Sun protection and maintenance sessions directly affect how long it lasts.

Will it lift the sagging on my neck?

No. Laxity is a separate matter, and mesotherapy deals with skin quality. If there is sagging, we discuss the right method separately at the examination.

Will it leave marks?

We do not expect any lasting mark. Redness and small bumps appear at the injection points and usually settle within 2-3 hours.

Will my horizontal lines disappear completely?

The deep ones are not completely erased. Our aim is to soften how they look, and how much they soften depends on the depth of the line.
