Thread Brow Lift
What Is It?
In a thread brow lift we place special suspension threads under the skin to carry the tissue of the brow area upwards and hold it there. It is a non-surgical lifting method. The small barbs on the threads grip the tissue, so the lifting effect appears during the procedure itself.
With age the forehead skin loosens, the tail of the brow drops and the eye area takes on a more tired expression. With this method we do not touch the brow itself; we put the tissue that carries the brow back in place. It has a second effect as well. Over time the threads create a collagen response around them, and the tissue gains some extra support.
How Is It Done?
The treatment starts with facial analysis. We look at the height of the brows, the difference between the two sides, the structure of the forehead and any excess skin on the upper eyelid. This distinction matters. If the complaint comes mainly from the eyelid skin, a thread lift will not meet the expectation, and I say so from the start.
We draw and mark the brow height we are aiming for. Under local anaesthesia we place the threads under the skin through the entry points, carry the tissue upwards and secure it. When it is finished, we check the symmetry both with the face at rest and with the brows raised. The procedure takes 45-60 minutes on average.
Who Is It For?
It suits patients whose brow tails have dropped, whose eye area looks tired, who have mild or moderate laxity on the forehead, and who do not want surgery. Skin that has kept its elasticity directly affects the quality of the result.
If there is marked excess skin on the upper eyelid or advanced sagging of the forehead, it does not meet the expectation. In that case I recommend a surgical assessment. We do not perform it during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if there is active infection in the area, or in cases of bleeding disorder, uncontrolled autoimmune disease, a history of keloid or known allergy to the thread material.
Process & Recovery
Facial analysis
We assess the brow height, the difference between the two sides, the structure of the forehead and the excess skin on the eyelid. We draw the target height together and take photographs.
Treatment day
After local anaesthesia we place the threads under the skin through the entry points. We carry the tissue upwards and secure it. The procedure takes 45-60 minutes.
First 72 hours
Tenderness, swelling and bruising occur at the entry points, and a feeling of tightness is normal. During this period we advise against wide facial expressions, sleeping face down, massage and intense exercise.
First 2-4 weeks
The swelling goes down and the over-lifted look of the first days settles. The final expression appears in about a month on average. We do not assess the result before then.
Review
We see you for a review at the end of the first month. We assess the symmetry and the brow height by comparing photographs.
Results & Duration
We see the lifting effect during the procedure. In the first days, though, swelling makes the brow sit higher than it will finally be. The final expression settles within about a month.
The range generally reported is around 2 years. Duration varies with the type of thread, skin structure and the weight of the tissue. The effect fades over time and a renewal is needed. The threads are made of a dissolvable material; the body absorbs them over time, and they leave no permanent structure behind.
What Is Not Promised
A thread lift does not replace a surgical brow lift and does not lift on the same scale. It does not remove excess skin from the upper eyelid and does not erase forehead lines. It has no effect on pigmentation or skin quality problems either.
We do not promise a particular brow height or duration. Slight asymmetry may be felt in the first weeks; we make the final assessment after one month. If your expectation does not match your anatomy, I do not recommend the procedure.
Key Benefits
- Droopy brow lift
- Young look
- Non-surgical solution
“At the brow, one millimetre changes the expression of the face. An over-lifted brow stands out more than a low one. That is why I look for the right height here.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a thread lift surgery?
No. There is no incision and no stitches. Under local anaesthesia we place the threads under the skin through entry points.
How long does it take?
45-60 minutes on average. You go home the same day.
Is it painful?
We don’t expect pain during the procedure, as it is done under local anaesthesia. Afterwards there is tightness and tenderness for a few days.
Is the result immediate?
Yes, the lifting effect is visible during the procedure. In the first days, though, swelling makes the brow sit higher than it will finally be; the final expression settles in about a month.
How long does it last?
The range generally reported is around 2 years. Duration varies with the type of thread, skin structure and the weight of the tissue.
Do the threads stay in my body?
No. They are made of a dissolvable material; the body absorbs them over time, and they leave no permanent structure behind.
My eyelid is droopy — will this fix it?
Not always. If the complaint comes mainly from excess skin on the upper eyelid, a thread lift will not meet the expectation. We make this distinction at the consultation, and if needed I recommend a surgical assessment.
Who is it not suitable for?
We do not perform it during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if there is active infection in the area, or in cases of bleeding disorder, uncontrolled autoimmune disease, a history of keloid or known allergy to the thread material.
