Thread Forehead Lift
What Is It?
In a thread forehead lift we use dissolvable suspension threads placed under the skin to carry the forehead skin and the brows upwards together. What sets it apart from a brow lift is its scope. In a brow lift we deal mostly with the position of the brow tail. Here we work with the whole of the forehead skin, and we anchor it closer to the hairline.
With age the forehead skin loosens, the brows come down and the upper eyelid looks fuller. This gives a person a more tired expression. The complaint usually arrives as “I look tired”. Its source, though, is the loosening above the lid more than the lid itself.

How Is It Done?
The treatment starts with facial analysis. We measure the degree of laxity, the difference in level between the two brows and the position of the hairline. Under local anaesthesia we place the threads under the skin along the planned vectors and carry the tissue upwards. The procedure takes about 60 minutes on average. I have explained the full technique and what the thread is on the main page.
Who Is It For?
It suits patients who notice loosening on the forehead and drooping of the brows, whose upper eye area has become heavy, and who do not want surgery. If the complaint is only at the brow tail, a brow lift is the more measured option. We make this distinction at the consultation.
If there is active infection on the forehead or along the hairline, a bleeding disorder, use of blood thinners, uncontrolled autoimmune disease, a tendency to keloid scarring, or pregnancy or breastfeeding, we go through each of these at the consultation.
Results & Duration
We see the lifting effect during the procedure. Because of swelling and tightness, the appearance in the first days is not the final one. The look takes about a month on average to settle. The reported duration is 2 years, and it varies with tissue structure.
What Is Not Promised
A forehead lift does not erase the expression lines on the forehead; those are a separate matter. It does not remove excess skin on the upper eyelid, and it does not take the place of surgical lifting. How far the brow rises depends on how far the tissue can be carried. We do not promise a particular height or duration. An over-lifted brow does not look natural, so we deliberately keep the amount limited.
Key Benefits
- Brow and forehead lift
- Forehead rejuvenation
- Visible in session
“In a forehead lift, measure matters a great deal. Raise the brow one millimetre too far and the expression goes from rested to startled. That is why I work sparingly here, and from the right point.”
— Dr. Sinan Akyürek
Frequently Asked Questions
How does it differ from a brow lift?
The scope is different. In a brow lift we deal mostly with the position of the brow tail. In a forehead lift we work with the whole of the forehead skin and anchor it closer to the hairline.
When does the result settle?
The lifting effect is visible in the session; the final appearance emerges in about a month on average.
Will it clear my forehead lines?
No. Expression lines are a separate matter. The lift carries the skin; it does not erase lines.
How long does it last?
The reported duration is 2 years. It varies with your tissue structure and lifestyle.
What is recovery like?
For the first two weeks there is swelling and a feeling of tightness, which is more noticeable on the forehead. During this period we ask you to put off exaggerated facial expressions, sleeping face down, sauna and intense exercise.
